Asia 2011 - Week 2 & 3: Sweet Hellos and Sad Goodbyes

We truly had WONDERFUL time in the BEAUTIFUL Phillipines - and sad to leave them it is time to share our memories of them. As you can see most of it involves water of some kind. :)

After some more days of lazying by and in the pool at Ivar and Hugo's house...

...including some memorable pre-season soccer games...

...it was time to hop on the plane to Panglao Island!
Travelling with you best mate was an improvement to travelling with your parents John and Ivar agreed.

Once at the resort we had a 2nd breakfast by the pool, after a quick swim of course.

Ivar and John dug for treasures left behind by pirates.

Sara and Hugo checked out the menu at the local restaurant.
There were fish was "this BIG"!

One morning we got up really early to go see some dolphins play around.
There were A LOT of them!

Then, while Sara and mom had a nap on the beach, John and dad went snorkeling with the Bredin family at a small and really cool island called Balicasag. This probably means "basilusk" in Swedish we think.
Everybody saw hundreds of colorful fishes in the water, many who liked to the eat the bananas we fed them. (Unfortunately we don't have a waterproof camera to show you the beauty.)

Sipping cooconuts was not all we dreamt of, but guess it's part of the island hopping thing.

To cool down or dry up nothing beats a few games of Angry Birds!

Then, just like that, Sara suddenly knew how to swim!
"Dubbel-grattis", John said.

This is a typical view of the 3 boys, more under than over the surface.

Hugo: Half boy, Half dolphin

John has now inherited his dad's six-pack, unfortunately for dad (which misses it).

Sara and mom enjoying a tricycle ride.
Hugo playing Super Mario.

This was at a tiny nameless island, called "virgin island", so small you could walk around it without leaving the beach...

...and this was the boat which took us to it. It was called "Holy Infant 2", which is a pretty funny name for a boat.

On the way back Sara got really tired and dad got a beer.

Back in Manila we went to see a lot of people learning how to skate, or perhaps more how not to skate - in a shopping mall the size of lake Siljan.

John (aka Mario) and Ivar (aka Luigi) then threw a 6th pre-birthday party with a fitting cake.

In the middle of the party we were interrupted by a pirate treasure hunt. Luckily we found the treasure and it was a LOT of candy "Pirate Gomez" had hidden!

There was also choclate icecream.

Then, sadly, it was time to do the "hejdå jump".
This is Ivar taking to the skies...

.and here's John working on his airial skills.

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to Åsa and Jonas (as well as Che-Che, Lilja and June - their friendly staff) for having us over for the 2 week long "vacation from our vacation".
Life's Good!

We'll... Now were in Bangkok Airport once again (and we'll soon be back here again...) on our way to the south-west of Sri Lanka. Will be fun to see what that Island has to offer in terms of playgrounds, wildlife and icecream cones!
