After way too much surfing it was good to see some more mountains again: The Grampians. This is us at the aboriginal cultural centre, which was awesome!
Then we drove further into the outback on a bumpy dirt road...
...where we found some 4000 year old grafitti. Cool!
The showers in the camping grounds were simple but functional.
But as there had been no rain for a while we did not get to try them.
UNO! for dad, but them his luck soon turned. Sara was the undisputable campervan champion this night.
After a full day of driving - to McLaren Vale - it was time to sample the local specialities. John thought the grapes were "small but sweet" at Hugo's Vineyard Estates. "2011 will be a very good year", he remarked confidently in in his mobile tweet to the wining and dining community.
As you can see Mom nededed quite a few sips at the Wirra Wirra Estatse to be sure the shiraz of 2008 deserved all the medals and awards it got. If she was a little bit more relaxed she'd be sleeping... (Not a true story, but dad likes to kid around at times!)
Then it was time to turn in the trusted VW motorhome, with a few giant bugs on the grill, and after almost 7 excellent weeks say "good on ya australia" and fly off to...
KL !!! (which is short for Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia)
Time for SS (Serious Shopping) mom hoped and dad not.
Under these funny looking towers was a huge mall, luckily with a science park built into it:
Sara passed some electrons into a light saber.
John built a giant ball slider.
Then we made copies of ourselves using mirrors. If we had just been able to tell some of them to go meet mom for lunch we could have stayed longer at the park...
In the evening we took a 52 second elevator ride up in this 300m tower.
This was cool, but not as cool as...
... getting 2 large birds to hang with you afterwards.
After a (few) quick swims in the KL hotel pool it was then time to reach another main goal of our journey:
The pool at the Bredin Family Resort and Day Spa in Manila, the capital of Phillipines! Here Ivar and John show each other how much they've missed each other over the past 4 month!
Meanwhile the rest of the families enjoyed the spa facilities with some pedicure on the evening "lanai" (deck).
Sara "multi tasking" her way to beautiful hair and cupcakes.
Her hair is VERY popular for some reason?
Hugo choose to put the miniramp to good use, here after a fakie blindside acid drop not even Shaun White would think of doing.

Sir Jonas, the original tiger dad, intends to teach his sons (Hugo this time) to walk on water before age 5. "Jesus did it 2000 years ago, so you should not have problem with this now", he can be heard screaming all the way to the Alabang Country Club!
John got out the old stick for a paddle to keep the skills in place.
A very intense game of fussball that lasted 30 mins: Athletico Hugo vs Sara's Daredevils
And whenever our parents needed a break (or a beer) the friendly jaya Checci stepped in. Here she is finding us all the right pieces in the giant lego box. We also got a cook/icecream-lady named Lilja at our disposal. (Please remind us to check if you can get this in Sweden using ROT-avdrag. Very important. Or we will have to stay here!)
This Phillipino lifestyle we can certainly live with, so you'll hear again from us again next week. Hopefully from the island of Panglau!
