Oz 2011 5th week: It is always offshore at the Island

Another week, another beach (or ten)....



After Dad got to hang out and cyberhunt waves with another has-been pro snowboarder named Anders (Auer) in Narrawallee we...




...went on to a beautiful camp ground named Congo.




We found the skeleton of a dead fish.
Didn't know they had skeletons like this!




Mom caught some clean waves at Broulee and now got the style dialed as you can see. We clap our hands after every wave.




And between the surf spots this is how we spend our time in the back of the camper van. Sometimes we'll see a kangaroo or two, but it is mostly iPod games we have fun with in the car.




We often park overnight at beautiful spots like this...




...then have breakfast with a view in the morning!




Here we are even higher up, at 2000 meters, almost on top of Australias highest mountain, to the right of dad: Mt Kozioco. Dad claims he even made it to the top, but we have not seen any proof we trust on this. (He was gone for a long time, but it was probably at the pub.)




In the mountains we stayed in the national park with a lot of kangaroos as our neighbors. Two of them had a great boxing match!




Then we did a long drive to the coast, during which Sara found a really old deserted train.




Once we arrived at Phillip Island there were lots of waves, seals and tiny little penguins parading at night (max 30cm and really fat with stomachs full of 2 weeks fishing)....




....and at daytime there were lots of people in the water (max 200cm and some really fat due to too many pizzas and VBs)...




...and last but not least a great swimming pool at the camp grounds!
John swims like a tigershark and Sara has learned how to swim under water.

Tomorrow we are off towards some place called "Bell's Beach". We think this will be another boring place with all big surf and no swimming pool - but wadda ya reckon, it could be fair dinkum too. We'll have a far king go, ay!
